Service Information
The South of Spain has become an integral part of our Spanish business, and an area where we have seen a lot of growth. As already said, if it has a Spanish postcode, we go. And it is more than likely that this approach has been instrumental in enabling Ital Logistics to become one of the UK’s leading northern consolidators of freight between the UK and Iberia.
Our freight services to Cadiz, Seville, Malaga and southern Spain
Smaller shipments are usually delivered via our Seville partners’ depot, whereas we try and deliver larger shipments directly on trailer in order to improve transit times, whilst also mitigating the risks associated with transshipment.
Many of our international trailers will make multiple deliveries as, unlike a quick ‘there and back’ trip to northern Spain, our southern hauliers take advantage of the extra deliveries to increase their income whilst getting them back to their home town for bringing up their batches of oranges!
- Our export and import groupage services to and from the South of Spain are at least twice weekly via Seville, where goods are distributed to such major towns as Cadiz and Malaga on the coast, and inland destinations such as Cordoba and Granada
- Direct part and full loads to and from southern Spain can be managed any day where there is trailer availability
- As with all our services, most departures are capable of carrying dangerous goods in accordance with ADR, and in many cases also including temperature controlled ADR
- Furthermore, we can provide express groupage and dedicated express van services at sensible rates when goods are more urgent
From our own experience, the type of goods being shipped to this area of Spain have changed in recent years and we are transporting a wider range of commodities. The largest growth is in the chemical sector which has increased almost tenfold. Additional commodities featuring high on our list are machinery, veterinary products, pharmaceuticals, garments and textiles, not forgetting Gin!
Our Partner in Seville
Our partner in Seville is also part of the Moldtrans Group. Established in 1979 and completely Spanish owned, it is one of the leading companies within the Spanish logistics industry. Since starting our collaboration with them late 2018, we have been able to reduce transit times for items of groupage whilst at the same time being more competitive on price. Key tip
If you need to export a one or two pallet shipment to Malaga, you should ask if your client has a fork lift truck. 7 out of 10 shipments usually require a tail lift vehicle.
