Positioned on the French border in the autonomous Basque region of Spain, Irun is the northern terminus of the Spanish Northern Railway and is the most important customs station for Spanish overland trade with the rest of Europe.
A strategic town insofar as we can distribute shipments to Southern France as well as Northern Spain. In fact, feedback from our clients would suggest that by using Ital Logistics for their freight to Biarritz, Bayonne and as far up as Bordeaux, we are more competitive than many a dedicated French carrier, and can actually offer a faster transit time, often delivering first en route to Irun.
Our freight services to Irun and northern Spain
Our service to the Basque region is almost daily serving the areas of Irun, Bilbao, Vitoria, Vizcaya, Logron, Pamplona and Guipúzcoa as the main freight destinations. Irun is also an artery into the rest of Spain, the western half at least, and many trailers will continue on to deliver freight to Burgos on their way to reload, often from Madrid.

Our partner in Irun is ACC Transportes Internacionales, which was established in 1993. ACC specialises in international road transport, including the transport of waste and recyclable products. In addition, their national distribution fleet are able to carry dangerous goods, which fits in well with our specialisation.
Certified as an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), they are well experienced in customs procedures, enabling effective clearance, minimising unnecessary costs caused by delays inherent to the processes.

It’s strange but it’s true. Many of our customers, and even new employees of the company often comment that they never realised how busy Ital Logistics actually is on Spain. Synonymous with Italy by virtue of our name, the strength of our Spanish service is often under-estimated. In fact, we are now loading an average upwards of 20 true groupage trailers every week to Spain plus multiple full loads. We must be doing something right!
