Our HAZculator® is getting a facelift. The in-house program, built as a Microsoft excel workbook is going SQL and is being integrated into our new freight software – FREIGHTsoft®, which is virtually ready for launch.
The existing program collates ADR, IMDG and Eurotunnel data, plus the addition of various EU tunnel and rail regulations, and displays all the relevant information we need to effectively check, verify and plan the loading of dangerous goods with confidence. In addition to a consolidated information source, it also checks compatibility between UN numbers/classes and also against segregation requirements such as foodstuffs, acids, alkalis, etc.
As an implant inside FREIGHTsoft®, and on a SQL platform, it will continue to help us continue our specialisation in the carriage of dangerous goods, a sector with which we have become synonymous. Within FREIGHTsoft®, capabilities such as alerting operators if they are about to unwittingly assign a non-compatible job to a trailer, will safeguard against human error.
