Lille is one of the first major cities you come to after arriving in France from the UK from the main shipping routes of Calais and Dunkerque. It is, in fact, the fourth largest populated city in France after Paris, Lyon and Marseille.
In recent times Lille has transformed from being predominantly industry based, to focus on tertiary activities and services, This now accounts for over 90% of its employment.
Our freight service to Lille
Utilising our Lyon partner’s sister company in Lille, we discharge smaller shipments and those requiring specialist delivery vehicles (such as tail-lift or Hiab vehicles) for onward distribution. Larger road freight shipments are delivered directly on trailer, generally en route to our Paris hub. This not only enhances speed and efficiency, but also mitigates the risk of damages which can be caused by transshipment.
- We provide a minimum twice-weekly road freight service every Tuesday and Friday to Lille
- Transit times between our Manchester and Lille depots are usually 2 days
- Distribution times from Lille depot are in the main next day of arrival
- ADR and Temperature-Controlled services are available on most departures
