Service Information
Cape Verde or Cabo Verde, officially the Republic of Cabo Verde, is an island country spanning an archipelago of 10 volcanic islands in the central Atlantic Ocean. It forms part of the Macaronesia islands, along with Madeira, the Azores, the Canary Islands and the Savage isles.
Needless to say, there isn’t a huge amount of business to this area, but we are pleased to be able to offer this additional service to our customers.
Our freight service to Cape Verde
There is currently no direct service for groupage movements, and any freight for Cape Verde is handled through our Lisbon partner, although options are also available from the Port of Leixoes.
Once the freight reaches our Lisbon partner, the main service options are as follows:
- Fortnightly services to Mindelo and Praia (via Lisbon)
- Fortnightly service to Sta Cruz do Bispo (Via Leixoes)
- Monthly service to Palmeira Sal (Via Lisbon)
Transit times range from between 5-8 days from pier to pier for all destinations, although given the location, we would not wish to quote these as guaranteed.
Can we carry dangerous goods? In short, yes, based on previous submissions to the shipping lines, although we are advised that classes 1 and 7 are prohibited.
Being outside of the EU Customs documentation is naturally required and there are particular requirements in relation to import licenses.
