Late last night, the Civil Protection services and the Government of Catalonia issued both an official statement and an alert warning of adverse weather conditions due to strong winds expected today, February 12, 2026.
The Port of Barcelona has announced that it will cease operations for at least 8 to 14 hours, as exceptionally high winds with a risk level of 6 out of 6 are expected.
Schools will close, non-urgent medical services will be suspended, and people are advised to avoid unnecessary travel.
